  • 摘要:The article provides the results of the experimental part of the Targeted research programme Slovenian competitiveness 2006-2013 as well as the conclusions and final thoughts on the project. Theoretical contribution of the project 'Education on the built environment for sustainable development' has already been presented in AR a year ago. Based on the definition of the role,the education about built environment has in the sustainable development,the aspect of 'cultural' sustainability of spatial development has been singled out. The starting points for architectural contents- and visual- adaptation have been defined. The notion of the living quality has been suggested: comprehension of the notion as the basis of general public behaviour in space;especially by children and juveniles. The theoretical part concluded with the complexities of educational contents when it comes to built environment,didactical methods and tools according to developmental abilities of wider public. The experimental part is introduced by the assessment of contents about built environment in syllabi of primary and secondary schools in Slovenia. The core of the experiment is assessing the level of awareness and communicational abilities of targeted public: children/juveniles and their teachers/ professors. It has been recorded that syllabi offer a variety of unused connectivity potential among the subjects – horizontally and vertically. The survey shows that the aspect of sustainable development has been set out in education;however the teachings about cultural aspects of sustainability are inadequate. The introduction of problem based approach (to architecture) into lifelong architectural learning presents an opportunity for intergenerational dialogue in the partnership between education,research and economy. Through the prism of results the notion of 'education' has acquired a new dimension,the dimension of its 'lifelong' nature.
