摘要：Paper presents contemporary wooden architecture emphasising its energy efficiency. Slovenia has extensive forests,which enable the production of high-quality wood. Slovenian wood consumption, according to official data,is relatively low compared to available wood resources,but nevertheless higher than the European average. This study focuses on the advantages of wood as a building material and the properties of technically advanced wooden buildings. Building in wood has been increasing in Slovenia in recent years. In addition to the production of bigger companies, a considerable number of wooden houses have appeared lately, constructed by the undertakings themselves and through smaller tradesmen i.e. carpentry workshops. According to trends in other Alpine regions,the percentage of construction through carpentry workshops will increase even more. The prevailing systems of timber construction in Slovenia are panel construction,wood frame construction and solid wood construction. There are also mixed systems. The production processes and wooden products are close to the C2C – cradle-to-cradle concept. In Slovenia the project of establishing a C2C network is ongoing in the scope of the European INTERREG IVC programme.
