摘要:The article presents and interprets the results of a media analysis aimed at the image of schools and the educational system. The study was realised as a part of a larger project,The position of parents as educational and social partners of the school,now carried out by the Department of Educational Sciences,Faculty of Arts,Brno Masaryk University. The researchers had presumed that mass media shaped the parents’ opinion on schools. For this reason,a media analysis was included in the project,wording three main questions: How much space do the problems of schools and schooling occupy in Czech media;Which institutions within the educational system appear in the media;What is the general opinion of these institutions. The analysis has shown a rather random concentration of Czech media on schools and education. If assessed or evaluated, the problems of schooling are predominantly seen from their negative viewpoints. So,as a tool to develop the partnership of parents and schools,the media seem to be vastly inefficient.
