摘要:The article presents the results of a qualitative study aimed at mothers of small children. The central theme of the study is the question as to what positive values does motherhood bring to women. The analysis of testimonies given by the young mothers is concentrated at capturing of the changes they realize in relation to the birth of their children. These changes are segmented into four categories of significance: circumstances, emotions, personal characteristics, personal growth. For a positive evaluation of motherhood the fourth category of personal growth proves to be the most important;it enables even the disagreeably sensed aspects of motherhood to be valorised towards the positive.
