摘要:Based on the findings obtained through the authors’ own school culture research (data referring to the agreement on main principles of school operation and to the openness of the school towards its external environment),the article deals with the internal and external contexts of school operation and culture. The findings are analyzed and interpreted in relation to general reflections on leadership in institutions and organizations and, consequently,to the reflections on leadership in schools. Czech school culture is then interpreted from four different perspectives: schools as institutions, schools as common organizations, schools as specific organizations, and schools as communities. The support the authors get to such interpretations from their data is rather largely varied. Though this particular text mainly comments on school culture from the viewpoint of the organizational perspective of school operation, the conclusion is that school culture goes beyond the purely organizational framework and does not have any parallels in the organizational culture. Accentuated is a wider comprehension of school culture, consequently opening space for a wider social perception of schools.
