摘要:What we have up to now experienced with efficiently operating schools shows that a school becomes successful if it is not isolated but organically incorporated through the public interest into the local or regional environments. The objective of this contribution is to indicate whether such open attitude is anchored at Czech schools. The authors struggled to find out whether people at our schools are disposed to school opening, and which chances or risks there are. So,our concern was the climate of opinions rather than the factual situation of the collaboration between Czech schools and local communities. Generally treating the openness of the school towards the public, the article points out the necessity for the school to maintain its external contacts and be open to parents and the public as potential participants in the process of life-long learning. In other words,we contemplate the advanced activities of schools, beyond their basic educational tasks. Also, openness towards the families of pupils is commented on,pondering on the sense of positive guidance and support.
