摘要:In their text the authors observe the managing and leading activities of two basic school headteachers, with special regard to their efforts to manage quality in schools, relying on two relational frameworks: one of them is the contentual framework of the activities of responsible managers for quality in schools, another is the concept of invitational leadership (highlighting the leadership style, especially). Through description, comparison and analysis, the authors discover numerous identical or similar features of the headteachers’ leading and managing activities, but some crucial differences too. The data are presented in relation to the headteachers’ specific readiness to manage what is explicitly pinpointed in the above relational frameworks. Based on this, the authors present conclusions about some needful accents of school leaders’ professional development and the development of schools in the Czech milieu.
