摘要：The selection and proper application of a suitable methodology for implementing and managing a GIS project are key factors to the success of the created system. Managing a project covers several phases which facilitate,among others,careful analyzing and understanding the needs of future users,and an orderly transition from business functions to applications. This work presents the methodology of managing a GIS project,sets out the roles of the investor and the implementor,and stresses the importance of formal languages used in preparing the technical documentation.
