摘要:Four colour composites were used for evaluating interpretation possibilities of IRS-1C satellite images. Two composites formed from LISS-III bands – LISS(4,5,3) and LISS(NAT) were analyzed,as well as two composites created as a result of their merging with panchromatic image LISS (4,5,3)+PAN and LISS (NAT)+PAN were applied. LISS(NAT) composite, resembling natural colours,was prepared with the use of “synthetic blue” band,generated by Euromap company. Interpretation of land cover and land use forms was performed in accor?dance with CORINE Level 4th legend,prepared at the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography. In case of LISS (4,5,3) composite interpretation was done with 84.75% accuracy,while for LISS(NAT) composite only 72.69% was achieved. After merging LISS-III composite with IRS-1C panchromatic image significant increase of interpretation accuracy was obtained: 89.84% for false-colour composite and 87.54% for composite resembling natural colours. Contribution of panchromatic image enabled to increase considerably correctness of interpreta?tion of built-up classes. In case of natural colours classes related to forests and semi-natural ecosystems were also much better recognized. Land use map was prepared as a result of interpretation of composite resembling natural colours merged with panchromatic image. This map was generated through making overlay of colour thematic layer with varied degree of transparency on satellite image.
