摘要:The authors of this article present an option to increase the informative value of digital ortho photo maps available in the National Geodesic and Cartography Resource. As is well-known,the vast majority of these maps were created from panchromatic aerial photographs. To date,many techniques and software tools for fusing images have been developed. Common methods include the Brovey method,the intensity hue saturation (IHS) color model,and principal component analysis (PCA). The conducted experimental works showed that the fusion of a panchromatic image from a digital ortho photo map with a multi-spectral image obtained from a SPOT-5 system is possible. High resolution panchromatic images provide better spatial quality compared to multispectral images. However,MS images provide better spectral quality compared to panchromatic images. “The new orthophotomap” achieved in this way has a geometrical resolution comparable to the source panchromatic orthophotomap,however,radiometrically it is enriched with information obtained from MS SPOT 5 channels applied in fusion. The presented examples of executed fusions of images for different types of land coverage show that the presented solution should be mainly used for urban areas,forests and in many agricultural,environmental or mapping applications. The low costs of suggested solution,as well as the availability of archive images from MS SPOT-5 covering almost the entire country show that the National Geodesic and Cartography Resource should be enriched with products of increased informative value. In this way,it will be possible to expand the image data collected in this geodesic resource.
