摘要:The location of edge lines is a key issue for numerous applications. Laser scanning, airborne as well as terrestrial deliver information about scanned surfaces. Source information has the character of a set of points {,,} x y z with irregular xy plane distribution. In case of using airborne laser scanners,the density of points per square meter ranges from a few points to thousand points, when using terrestrial laser scanners. The great density of discrete information allow to model (as a vector) the edge lines of the surfaces. In the present study,the algorithm for modeling edge lines as an intersection of two surfaces was presented. These surfaces were approximated from laser scanning data using the z1=f1(x,y) and z2=f2(x,y) functions (adequate on left and right side of edge line). The task of determination a vector [x(s),y(s),z(s)]T (intersection curve),where s parameter of curve length were solved as projection of the curve onto plane xy. Height z was calculated after substitution of {x,y} coordinates in equation of any surface. In the algorithm presented,the plane xy location of edge line was determined using active contour (snakes) method. The external energy of snakes model was defined proportional to the distance between both surfaces of actual place of active contour. In the present paper,thin plate spline functions were chosen as a function fi(x,y),i=1,2 of approximation. The algorithm presented was tested with real data. The accuracy of edge line modeling was estimated based on direct field measurements.
