摘要：The introduction of digital cameras into production environment become a fact,but for companies,to switch over to digital camera is still not only the financial but also technical and organisational challenge. In case of frame cameras,for the resolution improvement,photos in panchromatic range are taken by 4 optical heads (4 coupled cameras). While assessing the measurement capabilities of digital frame cameras,attention should be drawn to the rectangular shape of a virtual image,with shorter side oriented in flight direction. That means greater coverage,but smaller base to high ratio in comparison to analog cameras,leading to worse high measurement capabilities. Broad experiences in aerotriangulation show that it is difficult to achieve accuracy above 2÷3 µm. An analysis of residuals within a single photo proves indicates systematic deformations caused by the disagreement between the components of a virtual image (4 for DMC camera and 9 for UltraCAM-D camera). This residuals can be removed by introducing in the aerotriangulation adjustment so called “additional parameters”,individual for DMC and UltraCAM-D. Investigation of spatial resolution clearly shows that the resolution of digital pictures is 1.5-2 times higher than that of the analog ones scanned with 15 µm pixel.
