摘要:Façade models and vectorial sketches are used by architects and conservators in architectural documentation of cultural heritage objects of sacred and lay art. In most cases, the information thus obtained is very important information, particularly when it is desired to visualise the real and accurate condition of the object before it is renovated,or if it is necessary to generate orthophotos or very precise cross-sections. Furthermore, such data can be used also for examining damage to the shape or structure of cultural heritage objects. Very often, polychrome or ornamental elements of paintings or sculptures are damaged. Therefore,an attempt was made to assess the potential of a scanner not only for 3D model generation and visualisation, but also for determining the utility of such measurements in renovation or architectural works. We focused at investigating scanner precision and utility of <1 mm resolution where the objects were damaged or fractured. This approach turned out useful for measuring very small, singular architectural defects or bursts in places hard to reach. The experiments performed made it possible to determine the width of crevices or scratches that were as small as 2 mm. In addition,a model of damage to a column was generated and the surface and volume of the column was calculated. The Scan World recording was used with the HDS target method, which provided a 5 mm accuracy of the vectorial model (the relative error was 1:6000). Another important aspect of architectural documentation is texture. It is particularly crucial when it is desired to take an orthophoto of a façade,of sculptures, frescoes,or paintings. The most modern scanners have an internal digital camera. However, for texturing an external KODAK DCS 14n Pro digital camera, with 4500 x 3000 pixels matrix and with 24 mm focal length lens was used. Based on the 7 homological points in both of the scan and he image, the error of fitting and texturing process was found to amount to 0.84 pixel.
