摘要：TerraSAR_X radar images are now available to scientific groups in Europe and Poland in the framework of Infoterra’s GmbH promotional campaign and through DLR’s research proposals. The paper focuses on the use of TSX / Spotlight mode image,dual polarization VV/ HH acquired on 11 October 2007 over the urban area of Olsztyn in Poland. The same area was covered by an optical VHR Ikonos image taken on 21 September 2007. The complementarity of both sensors was studied in relation to visual identification and mapping of buildings. The aim of this study was to evaluate the suitability of the TSX image parameters for this task. The results showed the image parameters (RE,dual pol.,spot 094) were not particularly adequate to the needs and failed to meet the photointerpreters' requirements.
