摘要：The main issue presented in this paper is the analysis of the possibility of constructing a spectral signatures database using the official registers and records of the Polish government’s Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture (ARMA) in order to classify satellite images. This database is updated every year based on the applications made by farmers demanding area-based subsidies. The first part of the work concerned the analysis of the database structure using the data delivered by ARMA in its original format. Data was made available for the TerraSAR_Agri project financed by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. In the second step a database of agricultural parcels was created in the form of topologically consistent polygons in ESRI’s shape format,after adjustment of cadastral borders to the field limits visible on processed satellite images Landsat 5/TM and TerraSAR-X. In the next step the database of parcels was connected to the database of applications where information about the use of the parcel and maybe also plant species is entered. This operation focused on finding the answer to the question: Is it possible to create a database of the spectral signatures of crops and other agricultural uses nearly automatically using this approach? The results achieved in this work show that the creation of a database of spectral signatures from the officialARMA’s database for CwRS control is possible,however the present structure for the collection and management of geometric and attribute data make this procedure laborious and time consuming.
