摘要:Soil erosion is the process of systematic soil degradation through the action of an erosive agent. In the case of water erosion,the agent is water,which detaches and transports soil material and rinses minerals and nutrients causing soil depletion. This process causes serious economic problems, not only in Poland,but also in other European countries. Due to this fact,the problem of soil erosion by water is identified e.g. in EU directives which oblige EU member states to identify and delineate eroded areas or regions where the risk of soil erosion occurrence in the future is high. This study focuses on the quantitative monitoring of eroded lands using a technique for terrestrial laser scanning. The area under study is the agricultural region of the Trzebnickie Hills,covered with erosion sensitive loess soils. TLS data were acquired using a Trimble GX laser scanner in the test area (600 m × 450 m) which is mainly occupied by agricultural fields. The study design envisages building a differential Digital Terrain Model (DTM) based on two point clouds acquired within a certain time span. The resulting DTM provides information about the changes in topography resulting from the process of soil erosion by water. The study shows the preliminary results of the site research – DTMs modelled from laser scanning data with an estimate of soil loss. In addition,the future possibilities for using laser scanning in research on monitoring surface change are outlined.
