摘要:In recent years the development of GIS (Geographic Information System) software and geo-data acquisition technologies has resulted in the creation of new map products. Undoubtedly that includes three-dimensional maps,which are an essential component of various geo-informatics applications. Due to the dynamic growth and demand for such products,GIS software developers and others,began to develop applications for presenting the reality on the map in 3D. The majority of applying the 3D map products is linked to land area,but the wave of "threedimensionality" also affected the navigation maps. Despite the lack of developed standards in this area,there are a number of finished non-standardized products,which are mainly associated with the users of pleasure boats and fishing vessels. However,given the dedicated purpose of navigational maps,which provide an adequate level of safe navigation,it should be expected that real standardiza?tion in the field of three-dimensional visualization will take place in the near future. Previous studies conducted on a group of marine seamen proved that three-dimensional navigational maps are "worth to posses". This represents an encouraging result for further studies,on a slightly different group of sailors,thus of inland waterways transport. Given the completely different nature of inland waterways transport and the varied expectations towards the navigation map,the article presents the results of research into the applicability of three-dimensional imaging of information in electronic navigational maps for inland navigation.
