摘要：Over the last decades English has undoubtedly established as an international language,as a language of wide communication,serving both global and local needs,its role and importance being recognized in almost every country in the world. The fast development of the world economy and technology has increased the use of English worldwide,this language being learned by more and more individuals for a great variety of purposes. This paper aims at examining English as an international language,in terms of number of users and official recognition,its key features and worldwide spread.
