摘要：This study aims to seek the reasons why the students of economics choose the subject economics in their higher education and if their expectations are met by the department of economics. The data in the study have been collected by a survey with the participation of 503 students from the department of economics,of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at the University of Ömer Halisdemir. The data via surveys have been analyzed by SPSS 22.0 computeral statistics programme. The study concludes that the students of economics had selected the subject with various reasons and their expectations were mostly met by the department. The study also finds out that there were no divergencies,based on the selection of the students and the meeting of their expectations regarding their structure of education while there were divergencies on the other variables based on gender,age and their years in the higher education.
