摘要：The processes and mechanisms of development processes do not have static dynamics. Besides regional development varies depending on region characteristics and economic motivations. In this respect,the financial sector can be regarded as intermediaries that can directly or indirectly support the development process. But whether the financial sector has an effect on regional development or not is a matter of debate. In this study,it was researched to determine whether the finance sector plays a role in regional development and significant factors which effects regional development is investigated. In this context shift share analysis is employed for Nigde province between 2006 and 2014 within a series of regional and national data on annual frequency. The shift share analysis shows whether the financial sector has a role on regional development. According to the results obtained from the shift share analysis,it has been determined that there is no systematic role of financial sector in the regional development of Niğde Province.
