摘要：The rapid consumption of urbanization,the advances in technology and the culture of over-consumption,which emerged as a result of various economic policies,have made solid waste a very important issue. Solid waste generally refers to all kinds of material sand materials that have lost their reusability,have no functional value,are not desired,and must be removed from the living environment. One of the hazardous solid waste types is medical waste. In this context,the aim of this study is to examine the concept of medical waste,which is one of the types of solid waste and hazardous solid waste,theoretically and to reveal how the wastes in hospitals are formed and how they are disposed. In order to achieve these goals,a survey was conducted in three private hospitals in Kayseri and one private hospital in Nevşehir. As a result of the analyzes,it was determined that medical waste management practices in hospitals were not carried out successfully.
