  • 标题:LIPID PEROXIDATION IN BRAIN TISSUES OF RATS WITH EPILEPTIC AND SUBJECTED TO CHRONIC SWIMMING EXERCISE AND GRAPE SUPPLEMENTED

  • 摘要:This study was performed to determine lipid peroxidation in diffrent brain area (brainstem,cerebellum and brain cortex) of rats with epileptic and subjected to chronic swimming exercise and grape supplemented. Totally 48 rats were used and divided to equally number as 6 groups. Group 1 Control,Group 2 swimming,group 3 swimming + grape,Group 4 swimming + epileptic,group 5 swimming + epileptic + grape,group 6 epileptic. Grape (GPSE) was administered intraperitoneally (ip,200 mg/kg/day),swimming exercise programme for 90 days (30 min/day). The epileptiform activity was induced by a single microinjection of penicillin (500 units) into the left somatomotor cortex. The end of experiments tissue samples were taken from animals (brainstem,cerebellum,and cortex) and analised for MDA (nmol/ml) to determine lipid peroxidation and for GSH (µmol/ml) to determine antioxidant activity. In epileptic groups,MDA levels have increased compared to other groups,tissue GSH levels were inhibited. The lowest MDA and highest GSH levels were determined in control and grape supplemented groups. The results of present study show that antioxidant activity is deterioted and tissue damage is increase,however,grape supplementation is corrected this condition partially.
