摘要：Managers have always been in the need of accurate and efficient access to information in a quick manner. In today’s globalized world,the importance of information and information systems is increasing every day. Undoubtedly,a good management of SMEs is based on good knowledge of course but it can be given by being based on accurate information that is correct and timely. Meaningful and accurate information on time plays important roles in the fulfillment of monitoring of business activities by the management and basic functions such as planning,organizing,leading,coordinating and controlling since the management that is lack of enough knowledge do not have the opportunity to make long-term plans for the future,apply and control them. Accounting Information System (AIS) helping the business management to take decisions has effective and driving characteristics as a sub-system of basic business information systems.The importance of accounting information system and its role in management of SMEs in this study has been discussed as the main issue. The importance of this topic,its scope and implementation in SMEs were examined by means of the questionnaires applied in Gaziantep and Kahramanmaraş. The degree of importance given to accounting information systems in SMEs located in Gaziantep and Kahramanmaras is measured. According to the data obtained in the study,some suggestions were made in the aspect of SMEs’ using accounting information systems in a more effective and productive way.
