摘要:The human body model was designed by Hanavan (1964) and modified by several research in the following years. In this study, equations modified by Clauser et. al. (1969) have been used. Even though the model was established almost a half century ago,it is still unclear the correlation between segments and torques produced by them. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate interactions between thigh mass which was calculated by using Modified Hanavan Model (MHM) and maximum torques of knee extensors/flexors. METHOD: 24 Healthy subjects (male n=16 female n=8) with no history of lower extremity injury participated in the study voluntarily. Maximum torques of knee extensors and flexors (both legs) were conducted by using IsoMed 2000 (D&R Ferstl GmbH,Hemau,Germany). Knee flexion and extension of both legs of athletes were tested in 600/sec angular velocity with eight repetitions (three: familiarization, five: maximal). Standardized verbal encouragement was provided to participants during tests. Thigh mass was calculated by using the equation: m = 0.074*M+0.138*P-4.641 (m: Thigh mass,M: Total body mass,P: Greatest thigh circumference). RESULTS and DISCUSSION: All the isokinetic strength and thigh mass measurements for right and left leg were determined to be normally distributed using the Shapiro-Wilk test. Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r) was used to assess the interactions between the maximum torques of both legs and thigh mass measurements. Statistical significance was taken as p.
