  • 摘要:Group 1;control group. Group 2;The control group subjected to exhaustive exercise. Group 3 Ellagic Acid -supplemented swimming group. The group administered with 10 μmol/kg/day Ellagic Acid intraperitoneally for 4 weeks and applied with exhaustion exercise at the end of applications. Group 4;Ellagic Acid supplemented general control group. The group administered with 10 μmol/kg/day Ellagic Acid intraperitoneally for 4 weeks and not subjected to exercise at the end of the application. RESULTS: In the study it was found highest malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and total oxidant levels in acute swimming exercise (p < 0,05). Also,acute swimming exercise caused to DNA damage in mononuclear leukocytes and increased 8-OhdG levels and decreased SOD,CAT levels (p<0,05). However,treatment of Ellagic Acid decreased severity of acute swimming exercise-induced lipid peroxidation,oxidative DNA damage and genotoxicity on tissues and blood. CONCLUSION: Ellagic Acid has ameliorative effects against acute swimming exercise induced lipid peroxidation and genotoxicity by increasing antioxidant defence mechanism in rats.Acknowledgements: This study was supported by a grant from the Usak University Scientific Research Council,Usak,Turkey (Project no: 2015/MF007).
