摘要:In this article we made an effort to identify the kinds of strategies adolescents deploy in achievement context in Lithuanian sample. The participants were 391 adolescent of the age 14-17 (160 boys,230 girls) from four different Vilnius secondary schools. Five groups of adolescents were identified according to the strategies they deployed. Two of them were functional: active optimistic and social support seekers. Three of them were dysfunctional: active avoiders, learned helplessness and impulsive. Four of them: active avoiders, learned helplessness, impulsive and active optimistic were similar to those described previously in the literature. The results showed that the membership in the functional strategy groups was associated with higher level of academic achievement and social activity. By contrast, membership in the dysfunctional strategy groups, was associated with lower level of academic achievement and social activity.
