摘要：One of the tools shaping society's understanding of children and children's rights is mass media. Among the forms of modern media,the Internet is the most interactive,operative,hyper textual and multidimentional. According to different research data and samples,Lithuanians trust mass media more than the government,Seimas,courts,municipality or police. In order to determine how the child as an object of public information is presented and revealed on Lithuanian websites,information found on the three most popular websites (delfi.lt.,alfa.lt and lrytas.lt) was analysed. Quantitative content analysis was done based on the website,title of the article,date (month),author (gender),section in the website,photograph,commnets. The article discusses two categories: the section of the website and the photograph. Research data shows that the child as an object of public information is presented under the headings of daily news and crime. Most articles document violations of children's rights but not children or “children's rights“ as an issue unto itself.
