标题:TT GENOTYPES AND T ALLELES OF TASTE 1 RECEPTOR MEMBER 3 GENE RS307355 AND RS35744813 ARE RELATED WITH TASTE SENSE AND BODY TYPE IN A TURKISH ATHLETE COHORT

摘要:Individual dietary habits are effected by single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) in sweet taste perception. TAS1R3 gene has a significant role in sweet taste receptor which is bounded to G protein. Studies over the rs307355 and rs35744813 polymorphisms of TAS1R3 gene showed that “T” of both polymorphisms weakens sweet taste sense. Therefore,we aimed to analyze the effect of related polymorphisms in the formation of athletes’ body type. MATERIALS AND METHODTS: 30 voluntary athletes,that have ectomorph body type were recruited for the study. All the participants were informed for the protocol of the study and study was in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki II. DNA was extracted using the QIAamp DNA Blood Mini Kit (Invitrogen Carlsbad,CA,USA). TAS1R3 rs307355 and rs35744813 genotyping was assessed by PCR and Sanger sequencing. Dietary habits were completed by questionnaire. RESULTS: The numbers and their percentages were 5 (17%) and 25 (83%) for the genotypes CC and TT,respectively,in both regions. Allelic count gave rise to 10 (17%) and 50 (83%) for C and T allele,respectively,for both genotypes. CONCLUSIONS: T allele,and TT genotypes of TAS1R3 rs307355 and rs35744813 are related with dietary habits,and ectomorph body types,at least in our study cohort. Larger prospective studies focusing on the genetic influence of the related polymorphisms are required for confirmation of our findings.
