摘要:Wetlands are the most important natural areas in the world. These areas have economic values as well as the opportunities provided by drinking,using,irrigation and water of various industries,reed cutting,fishing,animal husbandry,transportation,education-research,tourism and recreational activities besides their ecological importance. Recreation in wetlands requires the management of these areas to ensure that their resource values,ecological processes,biodiversity,local cultural characteristics by understanding and protecting the value of these properties. Because recreational activities not based on conservation cultures can cause destruction or total loss of wetlands. MATERIAL AND METHODS: One of the 1327 wetland areas in Turkey and the material of this study,Iznik Lake is the largest of the Marmara Region and is the fifth largest natural lake in Turkey. The lake and its surroundings are a major destination for recreational activities with its natural and cultural landscape properties. In this area,the sensitive relationship between man and nature should not be broken. However,there is no recreation management plan in this area. In this study,It is aimed to determine the characteristics of natural and cultural environment of Iznik Lake,to establish the relation of recreation resources with recreation and to determine the types of recreational activities that conservation culture adopts.In the scope of the research,literature and field studies and inventory of natural and cultural resources of Iznik Lake were prepared and "Outdoor Recreation Resources Classification" method developed by ORRRC (Outdoor Recreation Resources Review Commission) was applied to classification of recreational resources. RESULTS: As a result of the research,a realistic and feasible recreation function map has been created that will contribute to the recreation planning and management of the area,with a focus on sustainable conservation around Iznik Lake and its surroundings.
