摘要：The growth of world population caused increased consumption of raw materials with direct implications on the environment,which required rethinking the policy of exploitation of natural resources in order to use them more efficiently,with emphasis on increasing resource productivity and,therefore,to achieve sustainable development.Governments favours maintaining high and stable levels of economic growth,by “decoupling” economic growth from increased use of resources.The purpose of this article is to analyse the correlation between productivity and business resources to answer the question: does resource productivity dynamics influence economic activity? The results show that economic growth necessarily involves a continued increase in resource productivity.The study was based on Eurostat data,interpreted using regression analysis and correlation coefficient.
