摘要:The study of p53 tumor suppressor protenn 19 one ot most mportant subyects in an environmental toxicology as well as in cancer blology Generally,p53 has been known to involve the cell cycle regulatton and apoptosis by the actvation of ts target genes such as p21 and bax in a number of cellular stress responses In additon, assoclatons of pS3 wIth cellular proterns presumably reflect the Involvement of p53 In crnucal cellular processes such as DNA repaur The complex formaton of p53 and exogenous protens such as viral or cllular protens has been shown In many cases to play important roles In Careinogenic processes against envronmental mutagen Recently the disrupton of p53 proten by oxidatve stress has been dlo reported to have relevance to carcinogenesis These findings suggested that the manta1ning of stabulty and functional activty of p53 proten was also important dspect to play as a turmor sppressor protein Theretore. the detecton of functhonal status of pS3 proterns mght be an effective bromarker for the cancer and human diseases under the environmental toxncolognc carcinogen.
