摘要：El sentido humano de la profesión del docente y la humanización o deshumanización de la enseñanza, vinculado esto a la hipótesis si somos profesionales de una rama determinada o docentes de la educación superior, fueron las principales interrogantes que motivaron la presente investigación. El objetivo fundamental es determinar las variables que inciden en los resultados del desempeño estudiantil desde una mirada del self del docente universitario. Se realizó un análisis teórico de los puntos de vistas y resultados de investigaciones sobre el problema objeto de estudio en diferentes países y en Ecuador, demostrándose la necesidad de cambios en el docente universitario para dar el verdadero significado y sentido al ejercicio profesional a partir del proceso de perfeccionamiento docente desde una proyección más individualizada.
其他摘要：The human meaning of the teaching profession and the humanization or dehumanization of teaching, linked to the hypothesis whether we are professionals in a certain branch or teachers of higher education, were the main questions that motivated this research. The fundamental objective is to determine the variables that affect the results of student performance from a view of the university teacher's self. A theoretical analysis of the points of view and results of investigations on the problem under study in different countries and in Ecuador was carried out, demonstrating the need for changes in the university teacher to give the true meaning and meaning to professional practice from the process teacher training from a more individualized projection.
