摘要:What is already known about this topic? Invasive fungal diseases cause considerable morbidity and mortality. Awareness is essential for early diagnosis and treatment. What is added by this report? Public awareness of invasive fungal diseases was low in a 2019 survey of 3,624 adults; approximately two thirds of respondents had never heard of any of the diseases on the survey. What are the implications for public health practice? These results are the first estimates of nationwide public awareness of fungal diseases and serve as a baseline for future studies to assess knowledge gaps. Continued educational efforts to improve awareness are needed.
