摘要：This essay raises the debate on being human or not. When seeking to understand these concepts and meanings, the authors also try to understand some of their reflections in the field of Journalism. when revisiting reflections in Philosophy, Sociology or Law (among others) one observes processes such as social categorizations, essentialism, differentiation/distinction, leading to stereotypes and prejudices. Thus the authors identify situations in which journalists create and reproduce dehumanization. The authors further highlight as perspectives, the necessity to recognize limits, tendencies and weaknesses in order to seek to overcome what is not human - initially, from each journalist, individually, and then from journalism to society.
