摘要：The Životné prostredie journal has been issued for 50 years. During this period, the 16,372 pages were devoted to all aspects of care for the environment, and in the international context it has also addressed environmental development in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. It has become a mirror of both success and failure of environment policy and significantly contributed to development of environmental journalism. It fulfilled its role of revue in issues of environmental theory and practice and thus proved its usefulness. Due to the increasing global scale of environmental problems it has also ensured its legitimacy for the future.
