摘要：The academic Institute of Geography was operating in the period from 1963 to 1993 when it was dissolved. It was oriented both on the basic, and as well as on the applied geographic (territorial) research. Especially results of applied research respected that time´s needs of improved utilizing of natural and human country resources deeply bound with the present and expected state of the environment. The Institute published its environmental research results in five editorial both regular and irregular programmes: Zprávy Geografického ústavu ČSAV (Reports of the Institute of Geography of CSAS – the journal published regularly four times per year), Studia geographica (the journal published irregularly as conference proceedings, thematic paper monographies and monothematic books), Studia carsologica (the journal presenting papers from conferences and institute research about the problems of the karst – published irregularly), Sborník prací (the journal containing occasional collections of papers commonly related with personal anniversaries and completed research projects – published irregularly) and Geografie: teorie – výzkum – praxe (the journal Geography: theory – research – practice – published irregularly outputs of large governmental research projects and distributed to eligible readers only). This paper presents selected important environmental research results published in all publication programmes of the Institute.
