摘要：The Institute of Landscape Ecology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences has a long tradition in publishing monographs with landscape ecological and environmental issues from the territory of Slovakia. The aim of these works is to make scientific results available from different regions and with different problems. Apart from the theoretical and methodological monographs, the Institute regularly publishes monographs with regional and local character in the following topics: (1) proposal for new territorial division of the urbanized, alpine, agricultural and recreational landscape; (2) historical changes in land use, historical agrarian structures and traditional agriculture and (3) the alpine landscape with its unique and specific issues. In addition to monographs, the Institute has increased its traditions in the following areas; the Institute has had the opportunity to participate in several atlas works on national and international levels; a separate chapter in non-periodical publications consisted of proceedings from various conferences; since 1967, publications have been accepted every three years in a collection of International Symposia on Problems of Landscape Ecological Research. Moreover, the monographs, proceedings and non-periodical publishing activities are currently supplemented by three periodicals: the anniversary journal Životné prostredie (Environment) since 1967, Ekológia (Bratislava) (Ecology) since 1982 and Ekologické štúdie (Ecological Studies) since 2010. Finally, publications by the Institute of Landscape Ecology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences provide important argumentative material in decision-making spheres concerning the future development of Slovak territory.
