摘要：Water resources are changing with changes in history, and archaeology and history remain the major sources of information on the historical need and use of water and solutions for altered requirements. These changes are associated with the development of cities, industry, and agriculture as well as changes in the scale and the structure of forests. Today, we focus on two types of ecosystem services related to water resources – drinking water and water for food and industry. Water is an important issue now and in the future from both landscape and water quality view-points. Based on the analysis of historical development, we can predict changes in ecosystem services needs of future water resources. For example, the need for water purification and treatment and the creation of water retention are increasingly critical. This paper analyses new ecosystem services essential for the security of water for food and energy, for city sanitation and for general population needs and urban development.
