摘要：There were disastrous flods in the municipality of Lichnov under Horní Benešov between 1996 and 1997. This paper applies hydrologic analogy in considering flod control measures for the affcted watercourses in this catchment because they have never been previously monitored. The construction of the fist polder is currently being completed on the Tetřevský Potok, and the construction of a further polder is planned for this same brook. Flow measurements which began in 2006 still continue; with surprisingly low observed flow rates. The highest flow rate in the last 9 years has reached only 7.6 % of the maximum 100-year-flod-flow-rate, for which the polder was originally intended. This is due to total rainfall amounts of 140 mm; and the results of our terrain observations suggest that it would be more appropriate to consider a different alternative for flood protection in the Lichnov pod Horní Benešov municipality.
