摘要：New trends in landscape ecology produce also new impulses for the research of vegetation and the development of interpretation methods. It is important to become aware that if the qualifid knowledge on vegetation is required and applied, it will stimulate the development of both the botany and the landscape ecology as well as their cooperation. Otherwise, the botany and the part of the landscape ecology that is dealing with the living component of the landscape will be developed in parallel and will not interact. Such situation will affct negatively the knowledge on vegetation and its importance in the landscape.
