摘要:Remote sensing data (RSD) represented by aerial and satellite images are used for the recognition of landscape both in analogue and digital forms. Information potential of these data makes it possible to obtain the physiognomic (appearance, shape, size, etc.) and biophysical (x, y – planimetric location, z – topographic/bathymetric elevation, colour and spectral signature, vegetation absorption, vegetation biomass, vegetation moisture content, soil moisture content, temperature of surface objects, texture of surface) characteristics of landscape objects. Such information may be obtained from RSD by the radiometric and geometric corrections and congruence with, for instance, the existing maps and to derive the thematic content by means of interpretation techniques. An important condition for acquisition of information from RSD is the cognition and comprehension of their spatial, spectral, radiometric and temporal resolution capacities. The demonstrated information potential of the RSD greatly contributes to the cognition of landscape as an integrated system via analysis of its elements, subsystems (landscape layers) and landscape as a whole. Application of the CORINE Land Cover data obtained by interpretation of satellite images to the European land cover identification, changes of land cover, identification and assessment of landscape diversity and in modelling of farmland abandonment is demonstrated on examples.
