摘要:The European Union allocates considerable financial resources in its member countries through development projects focused on remediation of old environmental burdens and damage. In Slovakia there are over 50 different types of defecation sites with various deposited materials in different stages of their life cycle. They store mainly waste from power plants and heating plants (cinder, ash), products of ore treatment (flotation sludge), coal gangue and others. Defecation sites generally represent large and environmentally dangerous objects, and therefore safe closure and their potentional recultivation has become actual topic of environmental security. The authors present in their article results of experimentation with research and development of new unconventional remediation technologies for defecation sites consisted of slag-ash mixture by using stabilized structured layers, soil and land. Stabilized scructured layers are by-product of desulfurization technology processes used in combustion power plants. On biologically reclaimed sites it is possible to grow different types of plants, which create biomass and this biomass can be combined with coal in the same technology process of combustion. This solution represents synergic environmental-economic-security effect.
