摘要:The Danube Region is the most diversified and with wide disparities in the EU. It is also the most international region with a striking cultural, ethnic and natural diversity. In the upper part of the Danube catchment there are regions with the highest living standard, highest production of work with throughly maintained environment. However, in the lower parts of the Danube catchment there are countries and subregions, where the mentioned factors are at much lower level. Contacts and cooperation with other parts of the Danube Region often do not exist or exists in small extent. The already existing cooperation in science, research, education with other parts of the Danube Region is not effective enough, the disparities in the quality of results continue to exist and there is significant percentage of those who leave. The existing educational system is also very diversified, while in some cases the universities are focused on maximising numbers of students taught at the expense of excellence. Improvement of cooperation of scientific and educational institutions common projects and intensive exchange of scientist and students should contribute to diminish these differences. High quality results of scientific projects, science-based decision in any of the existing level of business activities or in environmental policy will contribute to the process, which will lead to the subsequent diminution of differences in the region and to rising the quality of the life.
