摘要：The study area is situated in Považie Region, which is significant for presence of orchards and mosaic of grassland, arable fields and non-forest woody vegetation. Deforestation of the landscape and its gradual transformation to agricultural landscape by human activity had left behind traces. Orchards are typical landscape feature connected with dispersed settlement. They have long old tradition in this region, and they have to be preserved for next generation as memories of the past in the future. Even if the historical structures of agricultural landscape are threaten by abandonment and their area decreases, more than half of them are still regularly managed. Most threatened are types of historical structure of agricultural landscape with dispersed settlement and dominant orchards or grassland, due to movement and decrease of permanent inhabitants. Private land ownership was broken during socialism period and today the interest of inhabitants is dropping down and many fields were abandoned. Bounds and mounds of stone, as only remnants of forms of anthropogenic relief, give evidence of the former small-farming in this region.
