摘要：The paper brings short history of the compilation of the Red Lists of rare and endangered plant species in Slovakia and it also presents the main problems of its use in practice. The process of preparing the new, fourth version of the Red List of Fern and Flowering Plants of Slovakia is described, concrete examples of changes in evaluation as well as the difficulties in assessing of individual taxa are also mentioned.
