摘要：Ongoing process of losing the worlds biological diversity is a serious issue in current Conservation Biology. Halting biodiversity loss is therefore the EU as well as Convention on Biological Diversity main target in the next years. Ways of reaching this goal may be different, from legislative species protection to designing protected areas. For certain species, however, these tools alone are not sufficient. Therefore, Species Action and Management Plans are being prepared for such species. Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic was charged by the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic with the coordination, preparation and implementation of the Action and Management Plans for critically endangered and endangered plant and animal species. The effort of both institutions aims at the elaboration of good quality, expert-based plans with a high probability of achieving their goals, that means the preservation of a certain species as a living component of our wildlife. The main aim of this article is to introduce methods, organisation and implementation of Action and Management plans in the Czech Republic.
