摘要：Globalisation influences the whole spectrum of social life. For small countries as Czech and Slovakia there is the necessity to participate because they have to join the effort to minimise risks and disadvantages of globalisation and maximise benefits of that process. This paper deals with urbanisation influence overview as one of globalisation factors on residential landscape functionality. Authors of the paper bring an overview of the phases of urbanisation and landscape changes. Slovak and Czech landscape is currently in the phase of suburbanisation and that stage is important for reconsidering of the landscape identity importance for local communities and for the future landscape development.
