摘要:The opportunities and limitations of using spectral methods for an assessment of oil substances in water are discussed. The most commonly used are methods such as gravimetric, spectrophotometric and chromatographic, as well as newly developed immunoassay analysis. For continuous in-situ measurements, we consider the UV and IR spectral methods as acceptable in spite of the fact that validation of analytical methods and inter-laboratories comparisons showed that assessment of hydrocarbons in surface waters by gas chromatography gives more information about their quantitative composition. The UV and IR analysis give the opportunity to obtain relatively prompt information for decision making in case that water is contaminated.
