摘要：In a selection of building materials and technologies, not only the traditional demands are taken into consideration, but also new criteria related to sustainability and quality of life. Some currently unused materials and procedures suit better the new demands. They can substitute conventional ways of building, so we call them alternative materials and technologies. Their use brought about new views on the architecture and they affect changes of architectonic forms. Some examples of alternative building materials relevant in our conditions (undressed wood, unbaked clay, straw blocks and recycled material) illustrate the possibilities of their use.
