摘要:The process of world globalization brings beside the climatic, ecological, environmental and social changes new problems related to human population health. These problems deal not only with new diseases, but they also concern modification or reappearance of the diseases that were successfully managed in the history of the humankind. The changes in the environment support the propagation of both the environmental diseases and the communicable diseases. Climatic changes, mainly global warming, cause an important increase in insect vectors of infectious diseases and finally the distribution to other (non-endemic) geographical areas. Human exposure to the increased solar radiation resulting from ozone depletion in the troposphere may cause acute and chronic health effects on skin (skin cancer), eye and immune system. An enormous communication of humans coming from all over the world at the social, economic and market levels results in global health problems that need a well-developed public health infrastructure in each country, and international co-operation. The WHO and other institutions focus their current activities on these problems.
